What Is Bitcoin?

www.jersoltech.blogspot.com bitcoin
Against the dollar, a single bitcoin is now worth a massive $11,935.34, after reaching $11,948.27 this morning.

And there is now growing interest from institutional investors as it continues to break its own records.

The then-record high for one Bitcoin of £8,015 ($10,740) was reached on November 29 and basically saw the coin striking its mainstream moment.

But its value has continued to climb since then and shows no sign of stopping.

The dramatic rise has been attributed to surging demand in China, where authorities warn it is used to channel money out of the country.

In March 2017 the price exceeded the value of an ounce of gold for the first time – then around £940.

Bkav tricked iPhone X's Face ID with a mask

jersoltech.blogspot.com
One of the advantages of Face ID on the iPhone X is that – according to Apple at least – it’s very, very hard to fool, and the Cupertino brand says it’s worked to stop masks fooling it.

But despite that, it seems a mask that can trick the iPhone X may already have been created.

Vietnamese cybersecurity firm Bkav built the mask in under a week, for around $150 (roughly £115, AU$200), using a mix of 3D printing, 2D printing and a hand-made nose and skin.

You can see the mask seemingly working in the video below, and interestingly the mask isn’t even a full-face replica, with Bkav noting that it only needed details for half the face to fool Face ID.

Superman's X-ray vision trick on iPhoneX

jersoltech.blogspot.com
Apple's customary "just one more thing" hasn't yet extended to the 'invention' of X-ray vision.

But if you're looking to ape Superman's most useful* super power, the iPhone X's lush screen can do a pretty good job of tricking your eyes into thinking it's possible.

The team at iFixit, best known for its gadget teardowns, has put the exposed innards of the iPhone X to a good use beyond assessing its repairability factor. It's taken a high-resolution, ratio-perfect shot of the phone as if its screen were made invisible, letting you get a good look at the guts of Apple's latest and greatest.

Reasons Why Chrome is a Better Browser

chrome browser-jersoltech.blogspot.com
Google chrome is one of the best things to have happened to the internet. It made sense to come up with the chrome browser as Google already controls a good amount of the web that can be accessed by normal users. What could be better than having a dedicated browser to browse pages that Google itself will show. The browser was launched in 2008.

Initially, the browser was made available for the windows platform but it was later ported to other platforms such as Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. There are many other internet browsers but all of them seem to have some or the other problem which annoys users. Chrome has always been supportive and comes up with features that are worth mentioning. Let us see what are the reasons that make chrome a favorable browser despite so much competition.

ZTE Axon M: The future of smartphones is foldable

zte axon m - jersoltech.blogspot.com
ZTE AXON M
The ZTE Axon M is the future of smartphone design that’s already here in 2017, and it literally acts on the phrase two is better than one. Here’s another phrase: it’s way ahead of its time.

You’re looking at the first foldable, dual-screen Android phone with modern specs, and it’s an incredibly ambitious idea from the Chinese phone maker that’s not afraid to take risks to beat Apple and Samsung to the latest technology innovations.

It combines two 5.2-inch full HD displays into a single smartphone, and they’re either folded back-to-back – the width of a normal phone with a glass front and glass back – or expanded out to the dimensions of a Nexus 7 tablet.

Yes, it contains a seam in the middle where these conjoined screens come together on a hinge and is thick when folded up , but the potential benefits of having two screen outweigh these obvious issues, and this is just the beginning of the dual-screen idea.

Files and folders take longer to open, programs don't shut down as quickly as you'd hope, delayed logins and startups seem to be a daily occurrence, and you just can't whip around like you used to.

What's more, is that sometimes specific programs are to blame, making it difficult to know where to begin to clean things up.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to speed up your computer to make it seem new again. Before we take a look at how to make a speedy computer again, let's first examine why the computer is slow in the first place.

How To Boot Directly To Desktop in Win 8.1

www.jersoltech.blogspot.com
When Windows 8 was first released, the only way to boot directly to the Desktop was to employ some registry hack or install a program that does the same.

Hearing feedback that the Start screen in Windows 8 might not the be the best starting point for everyone, especially desktop users, Microsoft introduced the ability to boot to the Desktop with the Windows 8.1 update.

So, if you're one of those people that clicks or touches on the Desktop app every time you start your computer, you'll be happy to know that configuring Windows 8 to skip the Start screen altogether is a really easy change to make:

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: Configuring Windows 8 to boot to the desktop should take less than a minute.

Applies To: Booting straight to the Desktop is only possible in Windows 8.1 and later.

System Restore Using Command Prompt

www.jersoltech.blogspot.com
System Restore is a great utility to help "roll back" Windows to an earlier state, undoing any system changes that may have caused an issue.

Sometimes, however, a problem is so bad that your computer won't start normally, meaning you can't run System Restore from inside Windows. Since System Restore is a such a great tool to use to fix problems just like this, it seems you're in a bit of a catch-22.

Fortunately, even if all you can do is start in Safe Mode and access Command Prompt, you can start the System Restore utility by executing a simple command. Even if you're just looking for a quick way to start System Restore from the Run box, this knowledge might come in handy.

Guide on How to Use System Restore on Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP

www.jersoltech.blogspot.com
The System Restore tool in Windows is one of the more helpful utilities available to you and is usually a great first step when you're trying to fix a major problem in Windows.

In a nutshell, what the Windows System Restore tool lets you do is revert to a previous software, registry, and driver configuration called a restore point. It's like "undoing" the last major change to Windows, taking your computer back to the way it was when the restore point was created.

Since a majority of Windows problems involve issues with at least one of those aspects of your operating system, System Restore is a great tool to use early in the troubleshooting process. It also helps that it's really simple to do.

Follow these easy steps to return Windows to a previous, hopefully working, state using System Restore:

Time Required: Using the System Restore tool to undo/reverse changes in Windows usually takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, at least in most cases.

What is System Restore

System Restore is a recovery tool for Windows that allows you to reverse certain kinds of changes made to the operating system.

System Restore is used to return important Windows files and settings - like drivers, registry keys, system files, installed programs, and more - back to previous versions and settings.

Think of System Restore as an "undo" feature for the most important parts of Microsoft Windows.
What System Restore Does

Like I said above, restoring your computer to a previous state only affects Windows files. It's that type of data that's normally to blame for issues that would prompt you to use System Restore.

If strange things are happening to your computer after a driver install, for example, you might find that restoring the system to a previous state before the driver install fixes the problem because System Restore will undo the installation.

What is a System Restore Point?

www.jersol.blogspot.com
A restore point, sometimes called a system restore point, is the name given to the collection of important system files stored by System Restore on a given date and time.

What you do in System Restore is revert to a saved restore point. See How To Use System Restore in Windows for instructions on the process.

If no restore point exists on your computer, System Restore has nothing to revert to so the tool won't work for you.

If you're trying to recover from a major problem, you'll need to move on to another troubleshooting step.

The amount of space that restore points can take up is limited (see Restore Point Storage below) so old restore points are removed to make room for newer ones as this space is filled up. This allotted space can shrink even more as your overall free space shrinks, which is one of several reasons why I recommend keeping 20% of your hard drive space free at all times.

Understanding Android Bootloader

www.jersol.blogspot.com
If you own a smartphone and are interested in tech, then it is only a matter of time before you read or hear about locked bootloaders, on how to unlock them and the fact this could void your phone's warranty. Let's get the facts straight: what is a bootloader and what is it used for?

What is bootloader?

Let’s start from the beginning. The bootloader is a program that starts whenever a device is powered on to activate the right operating system. It is therefore not only a trait reserved to Android, but also one that can be find out all devices with an operating, be it a smartphone, a tablet, a PC etc.

Uderstanding RAM and ROM on Android Phones

www.jersoltech.blogspot.com
All smartphones come with a certain amount of memory and this is one of the key points you should consider when you buy a new phone. There are two types of memory: RAM (immediate) and the ROM (internal). RAM usually has a smaller capacity and helps the processor to have all the information it needs quickly in order to run. ROM, or internal memory, is more like long-term memory and this is where the entire operating system can be installed as well as apps and files. Let's take a more in depth look at these!
